Summer Incentive Reading 2015

MTH Kids

Summer Incentive Reading

The incentive reading program is available for children ages 2 years though high school. Reading logs can be picked up at the library or downloaded from the website. Children read or listen to books, fill out their logs and redeem them for prizes at the library. There are a variety of incentive prizes offered, ranging from coupons for a free ice cream cone at The Wimberley Café, a glass bottom boat ride or a grab bag full of "gems" from the Broken Arrow Rock Shop. The program begins the same day WISD students are out of school.

Research is clear that children who don't read during the summer can lose up to three months of reading progress and that loss has a cumulative, long-term effect.
