Summer Reading Kickoff

The 2017 Summer Reading Program at the Wimberley Village Library launchedwith an explosion of fun at the annual Kick-off Celebration! Sponsored entirely by the Friends of the Wimberley Village Library, the celebration began with a family-friendly show by Epic Entertainment, featuring Kazoo the Dragon. The show was full of games, comedy, and audience participation, all with a positive reading message. After the show, the parking lot was full of fun activities. Wimberley Shave Ice made sno-cones available for the children and their parents, and Tiny Tails to You provided a fun petting zoo. Volunteers from the Friends of the Wimberley Village Library served cookies and other refreshments. Volunteers provided face painting and horseback rides, and the Wimberley EMS gave kids tours of the ambulance. The Wimberley Master Naturalists and 4-H Club ran fun and educational booths. Over 300 people were in attendance.
