IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

Class registration begins on Friday at noon for the next week’s classes ONLY and closes again on Monday at noon. To register for classes, you must register between 12 pm Friday and 12 pm Monday.

HOW TO REGISTER:

1.       Visit the Library’s homepage and scroll down to the Events Calendar.

2.       Go to the date of the class you want to attend.

3.       Click the text that says “Registration is required”

4.       Fill in your information.

You should receive a confirmation from Assabet, the library’s scheduling software. Assabet will also send class reminders and a link to cancel if you need to.

July 1: Southwestern Welcome Signs – Presented by Jen

Create a one-of-a-kind welcome sign by painting and layering laser-cut wood with a Southwestern design!

 

July 8: Blooming Thoughts – Presented by Jennifer McGee

This month we’ll create a whimsical portrait using acrylic on heavy paper. Let your imagination lead you to some creative choices for the subject’s hair. Weave birds, clouds, vines, shapes, and whatever inspires you into your subject’s beautiful tresses.

 

July 15: DIY Phone Charging Station – Presented by Janna Mills

Create a stylish resting place for your phone while it charges! In this hands-on class, you’ll assemble and paint a wooden charging station designed to hold your phone at the perfect viewing angle while keeping cords neatly organized.

 

July 22: Scrabble Tile Coasters – Presented by Jen

Turn Scrabble tiles into charming, personalized coasters in this hands-on craft class that blends wordplay with home décor. You’ll assemble a pair of durable coasters with a simple cork backing. Perfect for gifting or adding a literary touch to your coffee table.

 

July 29: Citrus Printed Tea Towels – Presented by Jen

Using fresh-cut fruit as a stamp, we’ll decorate tea towels perfect for summer. Bright colored acrylic paint and textile medium ensures your design endures for many seasons to come.

Make journal pages, decorative tags and other mixed media projects using a variety of materials.

July 2: Checker Weave Paper Baskets – Presented by Jen

This fun project is a great introduction to basket weaving and sustainable crafting! Upcycle colorful magazine pages into a palm-sized basket with a classic checker-weave pattern.

 

July 16: Paper Rooms – Presented by Jen

Construct your dream home as a 3D pop-up miniature! We’ll explore fundamental pop-up techniques using scrapbook paper to build tiny living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and more!

 

July 30: Tunnel Books – Presented by Jen

We’ll create a scenic “tunnel” by layering paper cutouts and mounting them inside an accordion-style frame. When opened, the layers create the illusion of depth and perspective, taking the eye on a journey through the scene!

ADULT CRAFT LAB BOOK COLLECTION

The library collection has over 200 books on craft history and hands-on craft projects from soap-making to maker technology! These books are located in the non-fiction area and are available for check-out.
