Class registration begins on Friday at noon for the next week’s classes ONLY and closes again on Monday at noon. To register for classes, you must register between 12 pm Friday and 12 pm Monday.
HOW TO REGISTER:
1. Visit the Library’s homepage and scroll down to the Events Calendar.
2. Go to the date of the class you want to attend.
3. Click the text that says “Registration is required”
4. Fill in your information.
You should receive a confirmation from Assabet, the library’s scheduling software. Assabet will also send class reminders and a link to cancel if you need to.

SCHEDULE
August 5: DIY Canvas Totes – Presented by Janna Mills
Personalize canvas tote bags using iron-on transfers, jewels, paints, ribbons, and more! Join this hands-on workshop and take home a unique craft you can use every day.
August 12: Summer Pool Floats – Presented by Jennifer McGee
We’ll combine watercolor paint with some highlights of oil pastel to create a pair of summertime, pool-inspired paintings. Practice watercolor techniques to create depth and shape and manipulate values of blue for an effect of “swimming pool shimmer”.
August 19: Kinusaiga Sunrises – Presented by Cheri Watkins
Learn the Japanese art of kinusaiga, or “quilting without thread.” We’ll create a sunset scene by tucking colorful fabric into a pre-cut design to create a stunning textured picture—no sewing skills required!
August 26: Eraser Clay – Presented by Jen
Just in time for the new school year, we’ll create miniature works of art that can erase mistakes! Using colorful polymer eraser clay, molds, and our imaginations, we’ll sculpt and bake a collection of custom erasers perfect for desks, backpacks, or gifting.
PAPER IN PERSON
Make journal pages, decorative tags and other mixed media projects using a variety of materials.

August 6: Book Butterflies – Presented by Jen
Build stunning paper butterflies using books and vintage style ephemera for the wings! Add a dab of hot glue, wire antennae, and a shimmer of gold paint to complete the look. Let your butterflies land on cards, gift boxes, and anywhere else you want a touch of whimsey.
August 20: English Rose Garden Cards – Presented by Peggy Simmons
Harvest a bouquet of beautiful embellishments designed by Anna Griffin as you create three garden-inspired greeting cards. Mix and match roses, leafy accents, and heartfelt sentiments to craft unique cards with matching envelopes, ready to brighten someone’s day.

Join the ATC Club, meeting each month to create and swap cards together. We use watercolors, washi tape, markers, pencils and more to make tradeable 2.5″ x 3.5″ cards.

ADULT CRAFT LAB BOOK COLLECTION
The library collection has over 200 books on craft history and hands-on craft projects from soap-making to maker technology! These books are located in the non-fiction area and are available for check-out.
