Class registration begins on Friday at noon for the next week’s classes ONLY and closes again on Monday at noon. To register for classes, you must register between 12 pm Friday and 12 pm Monday.

HOW TO REGISTER:

1.       Visit the Library’s homepage and scroll down to the Events Calendar.

2.       Go to the date of the class you want to attend.

3.       Click the text that says “Registration is required”

4.       Fill in your information.

You should receive a confirmation from Assabet, the library’s scheduling software. Assabet will also send class reminders and a link to cancel if you need to.

September 2: Sparkling Glass PumpkinsPresented by Janna Mills

In this glass fairy light pumpkin workshop, you will design a magical, glowing autumn centerpiece by arranging sparkling LED fairy lights inside a beautiful glass pumpkin.

This hands-on class skips the messy carving and focuses entirely on the art of light styling, interior layering, and seasonal exterior accents.

 

September 9: Texas LandscapesPresented by Jennifer McGee

We will look at a few Texas landscape artists, including some Hill Country talent, and gain inspiration from their beautiful work. Try your hand at capturing the Texas Plains, a Hill Country field of Bluebonnets, or a beautiful West Texas Sky using soft pastel.

 

September 16: Miniature Denim HandbagsPresented by Jen

The most petite clutch you’ve ever seen! Learn how to upcycle used denim and soda bottles to make simply adorable little purses. Turn them into keychains, give them as gifts, hang them as ornaments, or just admire them!

September 30: Puzzle Piece Picture FramesPresented by Jen

Transform your old, incomplete puzzle pieces into a vibrant, one-of-a-kind frame for your favorite memories. In this class, you will master the art of creative upcycling while crafting a unique, textured masterpiece. It is the perfect way to rescue forgotten puzzles and design a stunning piece of custom home decor!

 

PAPER IN PERSON

Make journal pages, decorative tags and other mixed media projects using a variety of materials.

September 3: Sheet Music Roses  – Presented by Jen

Let your favorite tune blossom into a beautiful 3D rose! We’ll use sheet music to create paper roses and gild them with mica spray. Make yours shine with gold, copper, ruby, or pearl accents!

September 17: What is a ‘Zine?Presented by Jen

Make your own pocket-sized magazine all about your family, your home town, your favorite pet, or whatever you like! We’ll cover how to easily construct a ‘zine, why you’d want to make a ‘zine, and how ‘zines can preserve a little bit of history.

 

LADIES NIGHT OUT: WHITE ELEPHANT MOCK-TION

Bring your trash/treasures and see how much they’ll fetch at our mock auction! Everyone will start with a handful of mock money and our auctioneer will take your bids. Take home new treasures, give your gently used items a new home, and enjoy some friendly competition.

 

ADULT COOKING CLUB: EXPLORING SUSHI

This month, we’re exploring one of Japan’s most popular culinary imports! Explore maki rolls, nigiri pieces, and handheld temaki with a selection of cooked and raw ingredients. We’ll sip a little sake and have Japanese soufflé pancakes for dessert! There will also be food for the mind as we learn how sushi is celebrated in Japan.

Join the ATC Club, meeting each month to create and swap cards together. We use watercolors, washi tape, markers, pencils and more to make tradeable 2.5″ x 3.5″ cards.

ADULT CRAFT LAB BOOK COLLECTION

The library collection has over 200 books on craft history and hands-on craft projects from soap-making to maker technology! These books are located in the non-fiction area and are available for check-out.
