IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

Class registration begins on Friday at noon for the next week’s classes ONLY and closes again on Monday at noon. To register for classes, you must register between 12 pm Friday and 12 pm Monday.

HOW TO REGISTER:

1.       Visit the Library’s homepage and scroll down to the Events Calendar.

2.       Go to the date of the class you want to attend.

3.       Click the text that says “Registration is required”

4.       Fill in your information.

You should receive a confirmation from Assabet, the library’s scheduling software. Assabet will also send class reminders and a link to cancel if you need to.

Our holiday craft fair was such a success last year that we’ve decided to have another! This one will be just in time for Mother’s Day. If you’d like to sell your crafts, preserves, or baked goods, apply before April 1st.

SCHEDULE

April 1: Birdhouse Buddies – Presented by Janna Mills

Build and paint birdhouses that look like they could get up and walk away! Easy assembly makes these two-legged birdhouses a snap to create.

April 8: Moth Symmetry – Presented by Jennifer McGee

We will look at AMAZING examples of beautiful moth specimens and create an oil pastel portrait focusing on symmetry and color.

April 15: Egg People – Presented by Jen

Transform ordinary eggs into unique works of art using acrylic pens & upcycled cardboard tubes.

April 22: Beeswax Wraps – Presented by Jen

Celebrate Earth Day by replacing plastics in your kitchen! We’ll make reusable food wraps that incorporate beeswax for an antibacterial alternative.

April 29: Gelli Printing – Presented by Jen

In this oft-requested class, we’ll learn to make monoprints using a gelli plate and brayer and even experiment with image transfers.

PAPER IN PERSON

Make journal pages, decorative tags and other mixed media projects using a variety of materials.

April 2: Paper Egg Lanterns – Presented by Jen

In this creative class, you’ll layer and shape intricately cut paper pieces to build a glowing sculptural lantern with whimsical cutout designs.

April 16: Paper Flower Wall Art – Presented by Jen

Create a colorful 3D paper bouquet of spring flowers that pops right off your canvas!

April 30: Mini Paper Houseplants – Presented by Jen

Make adorably miniature houseplants you’ll never have to water or fertilize! We’ll use paper cutouts, wire, and clay pots to bring our petite plants to life.

Bring your machine for a day of sewing basics from threading your bobbin to creating a simple drawstring bag. Several helpers will be on hand to share their tips and tricks for getting started.

Due to the popularity of this class, we’re extending it into April! Learn to cut paper and more with our new Cricut machine! Jen will be on hand to provide one-on-one instruction or just let you play. Be sure to join the waiting list for this one.

 

 

ADULT CRAFT LAB BOOK COLLECTION

The library collection has over 200 books on craft history and hands-on craft projects from soap-making to maker technology! These books are located in the non-fiction area and are available for check-out.
