The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has declared a serious drought, emphasizing the need for strong water conservation measures. Water Wise will continue through 2026, featuring a new series led by Salwa Khan of the Mothering Earth program. The initiative helps residents understand regional water issues, learn ways to conserve & protect local water resources.

Water conservation is key to maintaining a steady supply of water in our drought-prone area. One way to acquire water is to harvest the rain. If you have questions about how that works, how you can go about setting up a rainwater capture system at your house, and how much water you can potentially capture, this session is for you!

Our speakers are experts on water conservation and on rainwater capture systems. Dee Rambeau, a local homeowner will talk about why he installed whole-house rainwater, and what it’s like living without water bills.
