SPECIAL PROGRAM!
WATER WISE BY DESIGN: INTEGRATING NATIVE LANDSCAPES IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
Saturday, November 15 @ 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Wimberley Community Room
Presented by The Watershed Association & Mothering Earth
Speakers: Katherine Romans, Executive Director, Hill Country Alliance and Clay Ewing, Century 21 Realty
Registration link: https://events.humanitix.com/water-wise-educational-series
Property and homeowner’s associations can limit the types of landscaping in an area or subdivision, but some of the current rules were designed for an era when there were fewer people and more water available. For example, they may encourage large, mowed lawn areas, which are unsustainable when in a drought. In this session, you will hear about new guidelines for homeowner’s associations from the Hill Country Alliance. These guidelines consider our current climate conditions and provide examples of alternate landscapes that limit lawn areas while adding native trees, shrubs, wildflowers, tall grasses and groundcovers that will thrive without the use of heavy outdoor watering.
You will also hear from a local realtor about the value of water wise landscaping to homeowners.
