Tweens who are members of the Wimberley library Curiosity Club learned all about drones on Saturday, April 27 — including how hard they are to fly the way you want them to. Group leader was Carroll Wilson, development director for the library foundation and a former circulation librarian at the Wimberley library.

The participants planned out and built their own obstacle or racing course, and then faced the daunting task of trying to get their drones to follow the orders of their handheld controllers. (Flying small drones takes a certain amount of finesse that’s hard to learn in one two-hour session.)

The Curiosity Club is for tweens ages 9 thru 12 and meets at 2 p.m. every Saturday at the library.
