A good group of hard-working teens showed up again Saturday afternoon to continue work on our go-kart. We’re rebuilding most of it, and have selected colors for painting, the process for which began at the most recent session. Meanwhile, work also continued on the upholstery and on the engine. Bob Southard, a library patron and our mechanical and technical adviser, worked with the teens on the engine, and I worked with them on the paint job. Pat Galvin, youth librarian, worked with some of the teens on the upholstery. Our hope is to have the whole rebuild finished by the Fourth of July so we can drive it in the parade. After that the team will work on selling the go-kart and making a short film about the project.
