The architects from MarmonMok of San Antonio met with members of the library board of trustees yesterday to continue the conversation about a library expansion program.
They brought with them some more specific drawings of Phase 1 of the plan, which would be an addition to the existing building designed to provide for space for children’s programs and for small study facilities. Phase 1 would also had a few dozen parking spaces to the east and north of the building and change the entrance to the north side of the structure.
The cost to complete Phase 1 would be in the vicinity of $1.7 million. Fund-raising is under way both by the library staff development coordinator, Juniper Schneider, and by a group appointed by the library foundation, 501c-3 organization.
No action was required of the trustees on Thursday. They have already approved the plan in concept..
Below, the two architects talk about the plan with the trustees. I have also added the Master Plan document.
